Hi! My name is Kim Olson and this is my 36th year of teaching. I have always taught Math for the middle grades and high school. But in those 36 years have taught several other things as assigned- computers, reading, social studies, PE, 3rd, 4th, 5th grades math and reading interventionist. I did TRY to retire but missed teaching and was basically in the classroom long term subbing most of the retired year. I was asked back and have taught Math and some reading on a part-time basis. I am currently in 5th and 6th Math along with 5th Reading. I love teaching and students. I enjoy learning and these book studies are always good for that process.

In Chapter 3: Rapport, on page 32 of the book, the authors tell a story about a checklist. What do you think was on the checklist? If school leaders were to make a useful checklist with the intent of creating authentic, meaningful conversations about teaching and learning, what should be on such a checklist?
